A brief introduction to valve sealing rings

2017-11-06

PTFE valve seals are commonly used for globe valves, gate valves, ball valves, etc. with a temperature of t ≤ 230 ℃ and a nominal pressure of PN ≤ 6.4MPa. They can be filled with various materials according to the requirements of the valve's operating pressure, temperature, chemical corrosion resistance, and wear resistance.

Detailed information on valve sealing rings

The common materials and usage conditions for valve sealing rings are as follows:

◆ Polytetrafluoroethylene

Polytetrafluoroethylene is commonly used for globe valves, gate valves, ball valves, etc. with a temperature of t ≤ 230 ℃ and a nominal pressure of PN ≤ 6.4MPa. Various materials can be filled according to the requirements of the valve's operating pressure, temperature, chemical corrosion resistance, and wear resistance.

◆ Nylon

Nylon has the characteristics of low friction coefficient and good corrosion resistance. Nylon is commonly used for ball valves, globe valves, etc. with temperature t ≤ 90 ℃ and nominal pressure PN ≤ 32MPa.

◆ Synthetic rubber

Synthetic rubber has better comprehensive properties such as oil resistance, temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance than natural rubber. The usage temperature of general synthetic rubber is t ≤ 200 ℃. Rubber is used for sealing valves such as globe valves, gate valves, diaphragm valves, butterfly valves, check valves, pinch valves, etc. with nominal pressure PN ≤ 1MPa.
