NEWSIt is difficult for most people to distinguish between mechanical seals and hydraulic seals, and they often assume that they are the same object.
1、 Definition of mechanical seals and hydraulic seals:
Mechanical seals are one of the precision and structurally complex mechanical basic components, and are key components of various pumps, reaction synthesis kettles, turbo compressors, submersible motors, and other equipment. Its sealing performance and service life depend on many factors, such as selection, machine accuracy, correct installation and use, etc.
Hydraulic seals require pressure and a certain degree of smoothness on the joint surface. Rubber is often used as the sealing element to achieve a sealing effect through local deformation of the seal.
2、 Classification of mechanical seals and hydraulic seals
Mechanical seal models: containerized seal series, light mechanical seal series, heavy mechanical seal series, etc. Hydraulic seals: lip seals, V-shaped seals, U-shaped seals, Y-shaped seals, YX-shaped seals, and commonly used combination seals for hydraulic cylinders are mainly Lei ring, Ge ring, and Shi seal.
3、 Select seals
When choosing maintenance seals, most users will purchase according to the size and color of the sample, which only increases the difficulty of procurement and may not necessarily select suitable products. Suggest using the following procedure to improve the accuracy of purchasing seals:
1. Direction of Motion - First determine the direction of motion for the position of the seal, such as reciprocating, rotating, spiral, or fixed.
2. Sealing focus - for example, determining whether the active point is the rod seal on the inner diameter or the piston seal on the outer diameter.
3. Temperature Class - Refer to the original mechanical instructions or evaluate the working temperature based on the actual working environment to determine the required materials. For instructions on temperature levels, please refer to the following precautions for production users.
4. Size - Most users will choose based on the old samples they have used, but after a period of use, the original size of the seal will be greatly affected by factors such as temperature, pressure, and wear. Choosing based on the sample can only be used as a reference. A better method is to measure the size of the metal groove where the seal is located, which will result in higher accuracy.
5. Pressure rating - Refer to the original mechanical usage instructions for relevant data, or infer the working pressure rating by observing the softness, hardness, and structure of the original seals. For instructions on pressure rating, please refer to the following production user precautions.
